So says John Green on twitter. It is awesome :D
Now I am saying the same thing on tumblr. Click the link. Read the poem. It really shaped my thinking about TFiOS a lot.
This isn’t the best picture…I think they look awesome in person. They were still a little swollen when I took this…
It is a challenge taking pictures of your own feet :)
Right Foot, text: A brief candle; both ends burning… 03.25.85 - 08.18.07
This line is for my younger brother, Derek, who accidentally od’d in 2007.
Left foot, text: …you’re free at last… 02.12.55 - 01.13.10
This line is for my mom. she had battled crohn’s disease for years, and eventually succumbed to liver cancer. now, she is free from all of the ailments she faced in her life. I miss them both so much.
Both lines are excerpts from this poem:
A brief candle; both ends burning
An endless mile; a bus wheel turning
A friend to share the lonesome times
A handshake and a sip of wine
So say it loud and let it ring
We are all a part of everything
The future, present and the past
Fly on proud bird
You’re free at last.
